Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect almost nothing, we sell nothing, and the only thing we ever send you is the newsletter you asked for.

What we collect

If you join our newsletter, we store your email address and the page you signed up from. That is the only personal information you can give us on this site. There are no accounts, no comment forms, and no checkout.

Like nearly every website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) keeps standard, short lived server logs, things like IP addresses and request times, to keep the site fast and secure. We do not use those logs to identify you.

What we do with it

We use your email address to send you our newsletter. That is it. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information with anyone, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Cookies and tracking

Simple Yet Genius does not set tracking cookies. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers see the same basic request information any web server sees. If you click a link to a store (for example Amazon), that store has its own cookies and its own privacy policy, and the affiliate link tells them you arrived from our site.

Where your data lives

Newsletter signups are stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure, the same platform that serves this site. Access is limited to the people who run Simple Yet Genius.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email we send. If you want your email address deleted from our records entirely, write to us and we will remove it promptly.

Children

This site is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above. A meaningful change will also be mentioned in the newsletter.
